Enter the network option window by clicking on the NETWORK button on the main screen, it will take you to the screen below. First enter your name in the ‘NAME’ slot. Then select the type of connection you are going to use, in the ‘NETWORKS AVAILABLE’ pull down menu. Click on ‘CREATE’ to create a game, it will then take you to the network set up screen.
If someone has already started a game, it will appear in the ‘GAMES AVAILABLE’ slot. You can join a game, if there is one, by clicking on the name in the ‘GAMES AVAILABLE’ slot. The ‘JOIN’ button will then light up, enabling you to join the game.
Whether you create or join a game, you will see the screen below.
The players ready to play are displayed in the TEAM ROSTER box. If a team game is selected, players are divided into teams at the start of the game. Below is an explanation of the other options. Aside from the choice of helicopter, only the host may adjust game parameters.
There are three game types:
Deathmatch - Every man for himself, the winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game.
Team Deathmatch - As death match but two teams vie for victory, the winner is the team with the most points at the end of the game.
Capture The Flare - This is a team game only, the players’ goal here is to capture and hold on to a flare that both teams are competing for. The player with the flare cannot fire his weapons. The opposition must try to recapture the flare by destroying the carrier and grab the flare for themselves. The winner is the team who held on to the flare the longest at the end of the game.
Level
This chooses the map that the game takes place on.
Helicopter
Select your helicopter here. If you have obtained any bonus aircraft, they will appear in this selection.
Max Players
Although MIA can support up to 8 players, you can limit the number, from 2 upward for a faster update or more balanced game
Time Limit
This set a time limit for the game. Once the allocated time runs out, the game is over.
Max Kills
This set a kill limit for the game. When a player reaches the set kill limit, the game is over.
